FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE OAKVILLE, Ontario, June 17, 2008 – Today, Perspective Marketing Inc. announced the release of Perspective™ Markham 2008, distributed in the Globe and Mail, and to select households in the Town of Markham via Canada Post. The publication informs readers of the many successes the town has experienced in the past year and shows how forward thinking and drive have turned Markham into one of Canada's most prosperous communities. Recently, Statistics Canada announced that the Town of Markham is the most ethnically diverse community in the country. The town had held the second place distinction to Richmond B.C. for a number of years, but a steady influx of new Canadians has put Markham on top. "The Town of Markham works tirelessly to ensure that all members of its community are welcome and enjoy equal opportunities," says Glenn Marshall, Managing Partner at Perspective Marketing. "Markham's commitment to its residents is one of the main reasons that the town enjoys the level of success that it does." The Town of Markham has been busy in the past year. Many of the environmental initiatives enacted by the town have reached their goals, such as diverting 70 per cent of its waste from landfills. So successful was that initiative that the town has set a new goal of 75 per cent. Likewise, the town is expanding its business interests by actively campaigning to attract new knowledge economy jobs in the fields of environmental technologies and business services. Growing head office investments and other high technology and life sciences companies are upping the town's profile as an optimum place to do business. "Markham's reputation as Canada's High-Tech Capital is bolstered every year by the growing number of firms choosing to invest in the town," says Marshall. "The efforts of these companies, combined with the efforts of the town are making Markham the place to do business in the 21st century." All Perspective Marketing publications are archived in the National Library of Canada. Perspective™ Markham 2008 is part of a series of Perspective Marketing Inc. publications reporting on municipalities in Ontario. There are currently 17 editions, a number expected to grow to 24 by the end of 2008. For more information, please contact: Mike O'Drowsky |
