FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE OAKVILLE, Ontario, Tuesday, May 19, 2009 - Today, Perspective Marketing Inc. announced the release of Perspective™ Milton 2009, a comprehensive report detailing the continuing development of Canada's fastest growing community. The publication was distributed throughout southern Ontario in the Globe and Mail and to select households in Milton via Canada Post. Perspective™ Milton 2009 is introduced with a message from Milton Mayor Gordon Krantz, and examines various projects taking place in the town. Both the federal and provincial governments have recognized the town and have contributed a combined $30 million in funding for the development of the Milton Arts and Cultural Centre and Central Library, and also for the Milton Sports Centre. "As Canada's fastest growing community between the 2001 and 2006 censuses with a 71.4 per cent increase in population, to say that the Town of Milton is growing is an understatement," says Steve Montague, Publisher, Perspective™ Milton 2009. "The town, the province of Ontario and the government of Canada recognize the opportunity that Milton presents and are contributing resources to enhance the town's reputation as one of the country's best places in which to live, work, invest and visit." The town's growth is also precipitating infrastructure enhancements such as those set to take place with the expansion of Tremaine Road and the unveiling of the town's transportation strategic plan. Work on the Milton Education Village, which was created with the goal of bringing a post-secondary institution to Milton, continues as do discussions with Wilfrid Laurier University. Other articles in Perspective™ Milton 2009 include information on Conservation Halton's offerings for the upcoming fall season, the town's environmental sustainability imperatives, and testimonials from various residents offering their views on why Milton is a great place to live and work. "Milton's strategic location in Ontario provides the town with a lot of great opportunities," says Montague. "Metrolinx has identified Milton's Go Station as a possible transportation hub for the region between Toronto and Kitchener, and the confidence shown by private investors speaks volumes for the town's competitiveness." Perspective™ Milton 2009 is part of a series of Perspective Marketing Inc. publications reporting on municipalities in Ontario. There are currently 20 editions, a number expected to grow to 24 by the end of 2009. All Perspective Marketing Inc. publications are archived in the National Library of Canada.
