SARS
RECOVERY TOURISM PLAN
OAKVILLE,
Ontario (August 7, 2003) - Perspective Marketing has successfully
produced another winning marketing product for the Oakville Economic
Development Alliance (OEDA).
As part of a marketing strategy targeting
cities in western Ontario, Perspective produced a series of four,
full-colour postcards inviting visitors to take advantage of
Oakville’s various attractions and services. The postcards
highlight Oakville as a golfing destination, fine dining centre,
shopping haven and as an enchanted setting along the water. This
campaign features ads and coupons for various tourism-related
attractions in the town.
Beginning today, the postcards will be inserted
in newspapers throughout the Kitchener/Waterloo, Windsor and London
areas through mid-September.
Perspective undertook the project as a type of
SARS recovery campaign. “Toronto is a major draw for tourists from
the U.S. and the rest of the province,” says Steve Montague,
managing partner of Perspective Marketing. “It’s no secret that
tourism has suffered in the Greater Toronto Area and this is our
first step to create attraction to the Town of Oakville.”
Perspective used the postcards as a
non-traditional approach to marketing Oakville and as a way of
increasing the shelf-life of the campaign.

and design and generated a creative cost-recovery strategy for the
supplement. Perspective Marketing has produced a variety of publications
specializing in government-related publications. The company also
