MAPPING OUT HAMILTON

OAKVILLE, Ontario August 8, 2003) - Perspective Marketing has produced a City of Hamilton map for Tourism Hamilton that was released today through distribution in hotels throughout the Hamilton area and all McDonald’s franchises in the city.

Hamilton is host to major events this year including the 2003 Bell Canadian Open, September 1 to 7, and 2003 Road World Championships, October 6 to 12. The Open is expected to draw upwards of 22,000 spectators a day and the cycling championships  will draw an estimated 150,000.

“With the influx of such a large number of spectators coming to Hamilton within two weeks of each other, this map will have a highly pragmatic use for visitors throughout the city,” says Glenn Marshall, managing partner with Perspective Marketing.

The map covers all of amalgamated Hamilton and features conservation areas, bike trails, golf courses, shopping centres, parks and recreation centres and arenas, schools, places of interest and hospitals among many other city highlights. A calendar of events is also listed and continues through early 2004.
