FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
GOLF COMMUNITY
MAGAZINE IS FIRST OF ITS KIND
OAKVILLE, Ontario (September 3,
2003) - Perspective Marketing has successfully produced the
first privately published magazine centred around the Bell
Canadian Open. Perspective printed 50,000 copies of its premier,
annual Canadian Golf Community Magazine for distribution Thursday,
September 4 through Hamilton copies of The Globe and Mail,
hotels throughout the city, as well as Golf Town’s Ancaster
location. The magazines are being released on the opening
day of this year’s Bell Canadian Open, held September
1 to 7 at the Hamilton Golf & Country Club.
Each year, this souvenir
magazine will follow the Canadian Open to golf clubs across Canada and feature community profiles
for the various towns and cities where the Open is held. Next year, the
championship will return to the Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville for its
100th anniversary.
This inaugural issue
features historical stories on golf in Canada, the Canadian Open and
Hamilton Golf & Country Club, as well as stories on current trends such
as the recent increase in women’s golf and golf management courses at
educational institutions across Ontario. The magazine’s
community profile section covers Hamilton’s education, real estate,
healthcare and tourism among other sectors.
“The Bell
Canadian Open is a national event of international renown,” says
Steve Montague, managing partner of Perspective Marketing. “It
represents an ideal opportunity to showcase the community of Hamilton. Our goal is to give the
city’s residents a keepsake and demonstrate to those traveling here
that Hamilton is a world-class community.”
A limited number of 25
copies are available to media outlets wishing to give away free copies of
the magazine to callers who successfully answer the trivia questions found
on page 31.
