RELEASES PROVINCIAL INVESTMENT MAGAZINE FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPERS

OAKVILLE, Ontario (January 31, 2004) – As the agency of
record for the Economic Developers Council of Ontario (EDCO), Perspective
Marketing Inc. has published copies of Profile Ontario 2004. Every
year, EDCO publishes a magazine profiling various sectors within
the province that targets an audience of site selectors and investors.
“The publication had lost some of its lustre over the last
few years, as some members expressed their concern over its effectiveness
and the distribution of the product,” says 2004 EDCO president,
Norm Schleehahn. “The quality and distribution channels of
this year’s Profile Ontario 2004 are superior to any previous
EDCO Ontario magazine. An increase in advertising revenue over 2003
for this publication is a positive indication that the changes that
were made to the publication are steps in the right direction.”
Perspective Marketing gave the magazine a more global appeal for
2004 by streamlining the layout to resemble a report more than a
typical magazine. ‘Fast Fact’ boxes, ‘Spotlight’
boxes that profile individual municipalities, and charts and graphs
breaking down industry statistics present a truly comprehensive
Ontario.
“Our aggressive distribution plan took Profile Ontario 2004
to a vast range of potential site selectors and investors,”
says Steve Montague, managing partner with Perspective Marketing.
“We want to help EDCO let the world know Ontario is an economic
powerhouse that is open for business.”
To produce Profile Ontario 2004, Perspective undertook several
months of research with various levels of the provincial and federal
government as well as the private sector. The magazine provides
overviews of Ontario’s major industry sectors through stats,
news, municipality profiles, educational institutions and other
information relevant to site selectors and investors. Sectors covered
include: automotive, natural resources, advanced manufacturing,
biotechnology, knowledge-based, real estate, agriculture and food,
and an overview of the province’s brownfield opportunities.
Letters from the EDCO president, premier of Ontario and minister
of Economic Development and Trade preface the industry profiles.
Perspective Marketing is a full-service advertising agency that
